St John’s vs Kinkaid

Last night, St Johns won 59-50 over Kinkaid. I was looking forward to the match up of Jeff Roberson vs Justice Winslow; Both top 5 2014 kids in Houston. Although Kinkaid starting the game with a 5’10 guard on Winslow, initially I thought maybe he was there best defender or maybe to save Jeff from potential foul trouble, but it didn’t seem as though any of those reasons were apparent. The kid was definitely not there best defender; Winslow toyed with him all game and effortlessly scored. Jeff is clearly there best defender/player etc. On the flip side, Winslow guarded Jeff until he picked up 2 quick offensive fouls. From the 1st play of the game, you could tell Winslow was the aggressor and was going to look to attack/score. It seemed as though Winslow either scored or assisted on all 59 of St John’s points. Winslow finished with 35 and Roberson 12

St John’s 2014 6’6/6’7 Justise Winslow: Lefty, can go inside/out. Can drive slower bigs and will post smaller defenders. Streaky shooter but can make shots. Athletic, makes plays with the ball, good feel, good rebounder. Mis-match nightmare..
-Norm Roberts from Kansas was in attendance for Winslow
Kinkaid 2014 6’6/6’7 Jeff Roberson: I’ve seen him play better, it wasn’t his night. He defers way too much, needs to be more aggressive, & confident in himself to make plays with the ball. Again, showed some flashes of good ball skills, but need to see more consistency. He has a lot left in tank, which he’s not getting yet..
